500 Mile Cycle Challenge – June UPDATE
Our huge thanks to Becky, Gemma and friends for their amazing efforts over the last few months. They’ve cycled over 500 miles and raised over £1600 so far for the NET Patient Foundation.
Here’s a word from Gemma:
“We completed our 1 weeks cycling from Brussels to Amsterdam… and back! The 5 of us had a great time and checked the money raised during our trip as an incentive to keep going! We cycled 426 miles during the week and 91 at Easter so hit the 500 mile barrier.
I upped the money raised target to £1800 and we’re about £200 away from this now so hopefully we should hit it in the next couple of weeks.”
Quote from Jane Brotherton (who suffers from Carcinoid syndrome – the mother of two of the team members)
The team of cyclists all did very well over the bank holiday weekend and despite their tiredness they should all feel very proud of their achievements. They have set out to raise money for the NET patient foundation because it supports patients who are diagnosed with this rare form of cancer. The charity does a fantastic job of organising support meetings and providing online support for patients and their families. I would like to thank the cyclists and my friends and family who have supported me throughout my illness. I would also like to thank all those who have made donations so far. You can continue to sponsor the team as they prepare for the next leg of the cycle challenge at www.justgiving.com/netpatientfoundation
