London Marathon – April 26th 2009

I have now raised over £1400 for the London Marathon (mainly on my justgiving site: www.justgiving.com/meinousimmons. )

I was very pleased to run in 3h 29 mins.I ran the London Marathon in aid of the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation on behalf of my amazing sister Kiersten, who continues to be a great inspiration to all who know her. Her determination and optimism never ceases to amaze me, and I am very proud of her.

We ran the Norwich half marathon together in November: she raised money for this charity herself too, despite not being in the best of health (for more info click on the charity’s logo link). As it is a rare kind of cancer, there’s not much money for research into the causes and the development of new treatments.
